FEATURING A LIVE INTRO BY JOE BOB BRIGGS
Holiday movies are sentimental, uplifting, and surprisingly devoid of knife murders. What’s a horror fan to do?! Sickos rejoice -- BLACK CHRISTMAS is here!!
One of the most influential slashers of all time, BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974) does everything right. When sorority sisters Olivia Hussey, Margot Kidder, and Andrea Martin find themselves under attack from a vicious, potty-mouthed killer (“It’s me, BILLY!”), it’s up to police chief John Saxon to even the odds. But what about Keir Dullea, the brooding art-school pianist? Could he have something to do with the mutilation rampage? One-part Christmas atmosphere, one-part stalk ‘n’ slash magnificence, and all parts awesome, BLACK CHRISTMAS is a timeless, terrifying, and demented holiday tradition. The late Bob Clark would go on to make A CHRISTMAS STORY and PORKY’S. But those movies don’t have death-via-Christmas-ornament in them, so who cares?
